Google announced on 5th Dec the release of a new iPhone application that integrates its multiple services into a single interface, making it easy for iPhone users to find, use and switch between Google search, Gmail, Calendar, Reader, and more. To use the application, iPhone users simply point their web browser to http://www.google.com.

I guess this web application is compatible to iPod Touch as well.

Google has launched the Android Developer Challenge, which will provide $10 million in awards for great mobile apps built on the Android platform.

The award money will be distributed equally between two Android Developer Challenges:
- Android Developer Challenge I: 2nd Jan to 3rd Mar 2008
- Android Developer Challenge II: To be launched after the first handsets built on the platform become available in the second half of 2008

In the Android Developer Challenge I, the 50 most promising entries received by 3rd Mar 2008 will each receive a $25,000 award to fund further development. Those selected will then be eligible for even greater recognition via ten $275,000 awards and ten $100,000 awards.

I’ve migrated most, if not all, of my email accounts to Gmail using the free Google Apps Standard Edition, but have insisted to keep my Yahoo! account because I couldn’t part with the excellent features in Yahoo! Finance.

Read from a blog that Yahoo! Mail is providing unlimited storage, so attempted to log in to my long forgotten Yahoo! Mail account once again. As expected, my account was suspended after many months of inactivity. However, they allowed me to re-activate my account with the new Yahoo! Mail Beta service, also free-of-charge.

Well, other than the storage meter is nowhere to be found, I’ve discovered a whole fresh new look in Yahoo! Mail, together with a whole bunch of new features. Unfortunately, due to the hassle of mail migration, don’t think I’ll even think of doing it, unless there’s a very good reason to do so.
